I purchased neoPLAYER from the MedioStream online store but I am unable to install the program with the CD key provided.

If you purchased neoPLAYER as part of the neoSTUDIO suite from the MedioStream online store, you should have received a purchase confirmation email, which includes a CD key for neoPLAYER. Simply install your neoPLAYER with the "CD Key" provided in the email.

How do I install neoPLAYER?

neoPLAYER is distributed through 2 main channels - via download (through the MedioStream online store), and via "Bundled packages" (i.e. an installer CD containing neoPLAYER is included with your hardware purchase).

If you purchased neoPLAYER via the MedioStream online store, simply double-click on the downloaded file and follow the instructions to complete the installation.

If the software is included as part of a hardware bundle, look for the MedioStream installation CD that shipped with your hardware. Simply insert the CD and follow the instructions that show up on your computer monitor.

Does neoPLAYER support S/PDIF 5.1 for Dolby Digital audio output?

Yes. neoPLAYER supports S/PDIF 5.1-Channel Dolby Digital audio output. While S/PDIF is in use, your original source can be directed to an external AC-3 decoder to perform high-fidelity playback.

neoPLAYER also supports sound cards with S/PDIF function. This means that if you are equipped with an external Dolby Digital decoder/speakers system, such as Creative Desktop Theater 5.1 or others, you can fully enjoy an even richer Home Theater experience.

I have an MPEG-2 hardware decompression card installed on my PC. Can I still use neoPLAYER?

neoPLAYER is a pure-software DVD player and it may co-exist with an MPEG-2 hardware decompression card. However, neoPLAYER cannot co-work with an MPEG-2 decompression card.

MedioStream strongly recommends that you do not use neoPLAYER and your MPEG-2 hardware decompression card at the same time. Doing so may cause some playback problems with or cause a system crash.

What is S/PDIF?

S/PDIF is an advanced technological digital interface (as opposed to transferring signals via conventional analog interface) designed by SONY and Philips. To enjoy true 6-speaker output quality using S/PDIF interface, you must have an external Dolby Digital/DTS decoder with an S/PDIF-compliant sound card to make this election available. (Note: if the audio output is enabled, the volume control for neoPLAYER will be disabled as your external decoder assumes the task).
